Dear Madams and Sirs,
This year, for the seventh consecutive time, we will be hosting one of the most significant energy events in SE Europe, Energija11. It will take place on November 8th and 9th in Maribor (Slovenia), at the Habakuk Hotel.
As always, we have carefully selected the most up-to-date topics, while we will put the main emphasis on central and SE European markets. There are enormous changes underway along the electricity value chain and the value will again be differently distributed along it. There are renewable prosperity and post-Fukushima nuclear issues on the generation side, and new business models for the customers through smart grids on the supply & demand side and, of course, the new challenges hence posed before TSO’s and DSO’s, respectively. In the SE European region, specific challenges are connected with the lack of new investments in generation, with limited access to funds for them, with subsidized prices for the customers, all resulting in underdevelopment of competitive markets. The underlined challenges coincide with the core idea of so-called Europeanization of European energy policy.
Some of the most competent European experts from utilities, regulators and institutions will be answering questions during four sessions and roundtable discussions on the following topics:
I look forward to welcoming you in Maribor on November 8th at the beautiful venue of the Habakuk Hotel.

Some of the most competent European experts from utilities, regulators and institutions will be answering questions during four sessions and roundtable discussions on the following topics:
- Further Market integration and Mergers & Acquisitions trends. Is the region finally going to face new regional market players?
- Financing of the new investment cycle in generation, new grids as well as smart meter roll outs. What is the real picture?
- Engaging the disengaged customer through dynamic pricing and new business models. Who has the most needs and who will benefit the most?
- The future of feed-in tariffs – how long is the learning phase going to endure? Are the pan-EU feed-in tariffs going to be a mid-term solution?
I look forward to welcoming you in Maribor on November 8th at the beautiful venue of the Habakuk Hotel.
